Due to sustained growth and increased workload—particularly within our AMP8 framework agreements—we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background. This is an excellent opportunity to join our integrated project delivery team and lead complex, multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects. You will be accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of projects—ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

* Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of multiple ongoing projects (up to £10 million in value).

* Undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.

* Lead the implementation of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) procedures across all projects.

* Conduct regular health and safety site inspections and promote a proactive safety culture.

* Manage overall project programmes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

* Oversee all commercial aspects, including budget management, cost control, and achieving target margins.

* Provide line management to Site Managers, Engineers, and Site Foremen.

* Coordinate and manage supply chain partners, resolving issues and driving performance.

* Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders; build strong relationships and provide regular updates on project progress.

* Chair and lead project meetings, ensuring accurate documentation of discussions, actions, and decisions.

* Manage change control and client expectations through effective communication and risk management.

* Collaborate with designers to develop practical, cost-effective, and buildable solutions.

* Mentor and support the professional development of project delivery teams.

* Ensure all necessary method statements and risk assessments are in place and maintained. ·

* Plan and secure resources and materials to meet delivery schedules.

Qualifications

* We’re looking for a confident, proactive, and highly organised individual who brings a passion for delivering quality civil engineering projects.

* You’ll be an experienced project leader with a strong track record in the water industry, particularly across complex infrastructure and non-infrastructure works.

* You’ll have a problem-solving mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and the drive to exceed client expectations in everything you do.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

* Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)

* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Project Manager role within the water industry

* APM PMQ (or equivalent project management qualification)

* SMSTS (CITB)

* CSCS (Manager Level)

* CDM Awareness

* Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

* NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely

* Temporary Works Coordinator certification

* Proficient in MS Project or similar planning tools

* SEATS or Environmental Management training
