An Assistant Site Manager is required for a residential development in the Rushden area of Northamptonshire. This position would suit an experienced Assistant Site Manager who is ready to take greater responsibility and progress into a Site Manager role. Working for an established medium-sized residential contractor, you will support the successful delivery of new-build housing projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The company is looking for someone dependable with a stable employment history and at least two to three years' experience in residential construction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of residential construction projects.
* Coordinate subcontractors and trades to maintain programme deadlines.
* Monitor workmanship and ensure completed work meets the required quality standards.
* Conduct site inspections and identify defects or potential delays.
* Maintain high standards of health and safety across the development.
* Assist with short-term programme planning and resource coordination.
* Manage site records including inspections and progress reports.
* Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
* Support customer care activities and the timely resolution of defects.
* Take increasing responsibility for sections of the development as your experience grows.
Preferred Ideal Experience & Skills Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
* Demonstrate at least two to three years' experience as an Assistant Site Manager.
* Possess experience working for a residential housebuilder or residential contractor.
* Show a stable and consistent employment history.
* Understand new-build residential construction methods and site processes.
* Hold a valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
* Hold a valid CSCS card.
* Possess a current First Aid at Work qualification.
* Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.
* Manage subcontractors confidently and professionally.
* Show the ambition and capability to progress into a Site Manager position.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
