Our client is looking for a skilled and reliable General Technician to join their expanding property maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong all-round maintenance background who enjoys variety, takes pride in delivering high-quality work, and is happy travelling between multiple sites.
Working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial properties, you'll become part of a professional team dedicated to delivering first-class maintenance services.
The Role
As a General Technician, you'll carry out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across multiple properties. Working alongside electricians, joiners, decorators, landscapers and specialist subcontractors, you'll help ensure buildings are maintained to the highest standards.
No two days will be the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys problem-solving and hands-on work.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out general building maintenance across residential and commercial properties.
Complete carpentry repairs and installations.
Undertake painting and decorating works.
Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
Identify maintenance issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Liaise professionally with tenants, customers and colleagues.
Maintain accurate job records using company systems.
Travel between sites throughout Peterborough, North Peterborough and York as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who is practical, proactive and takes pride in their workmanship.
Essential
Minimum 3 years' experience in general building maintenance.
Strong carpentry skills.
Experience in painting & decorating.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Good IT skills and ability to use digital job management systems.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible approach with willingness to travel between sites.
Desirable
5+ years' maintenance experience.
Multi-trade background.
Experience working within occupied residential or commercial properties.
