An employee-owned building control and regulatory compliance consultancy is seeking a Class 2D Registered Building Inspector to support their growing workload across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.

The business works with major organisations throughout the UK and holds long-term contracts across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. The successful Class 2D Registered Building Inspector will manage their own projects while receiving technical support from an experienced and collaborative team.

The Role

As Class 2D Registered Building Inspector, responsibilities will include:

Managing building control applications from initial review through to completion.
Assessing drawings, specifications and supporting technical information.
Undertaking inspections of residential and commercial developments.
Advising clients, architects and contractors on Building Regulations compliance.
Preparing accurate inspection records, reports and regulatory documentation.
Identifying areas of non-compliance and recommending practical solutions.
Managing project programmes, workloads and client expectations.
Working with internal specialists on complex or multidisciplinary projects.
Supporting junior inspectors and contributing to technical development.

Required Experience

The successful Class 2D Registered Building Inspector should have:

Current registration with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2D.
Experience managing residential and commercial building control projects.
Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Safety Act.
A relevant qualification in building control, building surveying, construction or a related discipline.
Membership of CABE, RICS, CIOB or another recognised professional body.
Strong report-writing, communication and client-management skills.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Location: Oxfordshire - Hybrid Working

This Class 2D Registered Building Inspector position offers hybrid working, normally two to three days remotely, alongside shared profits through the employee-owned structure.

Projects are allocated around the employee's home location, with travel generally limited to approximately one to one-and-a-half hours. The Class 2D Registered Building Inspector will also benefit from major UK client contracts, varied projects and long-term career progression
