Transport Planner
Manchester or Liverpool Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits
I'm currently working with an award-winning, employee-owned engineering consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Transport Planning team in either Manchester or Liverpool.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering development-led transport planning projects across the UK and Ireland. Their workload spans a wide range of sectors including residential, industrial, energy, healthcare, education and large-scale masterplanning schemes, offering a genuinely varied project portfolio and excellent career development opportunities.
The Role
As a Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering transport planning advice and supporting projects through the planning process.
Working closely with colleagues across Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Structures and Geo-Environmental teams, your responsibilities will include:
Preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
Producing Travel Plans and Delivery & Servicing Plans
Contributing to transport chapters of Environmental Statements
Advising clients on transport strategy, site access and sustainable travel solutions
Supporting planning applications through technical transport advice
Working alongside developers, architects and planning consultants on multidisciplinary projects
Assisting with site layout design and development planning strategiesWith projects spanning multiple sectors, you'll benefit from a diverse workload and exposure to a range of high-profile developments.
About You
Suitable candidates are likely to have:
A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline
Around 2-3 years' experience within a transport planning consultancy
Experience producing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and other planning-related reports
A good understanding of transport planning policy and guidance
Strong communication and report-writing skills
The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
A collaborative and proactive approach to project deliveryDesirable experience includes:
AutoCAD
Vehicle tracking software
Preliminary highway design
Junction modelling software
An understanding of project finances and commercial awarenessApplications are also welcomed from ambitious graduates who have gained relevant industry experience through placements, internships or postgraduate study.
