We're recruiting exceptional ALN Teaching Assistants for long-term primary school roles across Swansea, starting September 2026.

These aren't just classroom support roles. They're opportunities to become part of a school community, build meaningful relationships and make a lasting difference to children who rely on consistency, patience and genuine care.

Are you the one who celebrates the smallest victories because you know how hard they have worked.

The person who understands that progress isn't always measured by levels or worksheets—but sometimes by making eye contact, joining in with a game, or simply walking into school with a smile.

If that sounds like you, keep reading.

Who you'll be supporting

Every child is different.

One pupil may need help regulating emotions after an overwhelming playtime.

Another may need someone to break learning into manageable steps.

Some children communicate differently. Others simply need an adult who believes in them before they believe in themselves.

You'll support pupils with a variety of Additional Learning Needs, including:

Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Speech, Language & Communication Needs
Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Developmental Delay
Literacy and numeracy interventions
Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
No two days will ever look the same—and that's exactly why people love this role.

The schools

Across Swansea, our partner primary schools share one simple belief:

Every child belongs.

They're creating classrooms where inclusion isn't just a policy—it's part of everyday school life. Places where children are encouraged to thrive, staff work together and every success, no matter how small, is celebrated.

We're looking for people who...

✔ Stay calm when others can't.

✔ Understand that behaviour is communication.

✔ Never give up on a child.

✔ Celebrate the small wins that eventually become life-changing moments.

✔ Bring warmth, humour and positivity into every classroom.

Whether you've worked in schools, childcare, residential care, youth work or another supportive role, we'd love to hear your story.

What you'll get

£14.25 per hour (PAYE)
Weekly pay – no umbrella companies, no hidden deductions.
FREE CPD training, including:

Thrive Practitioner Awareness
Autism Awareness
Behaviour Management
Safeguarding
Additional ALN-focused professional development

A dedicated consultant who gets to know you—not just your CV.

This isn't just another Teaching Assistant job.

It's a chance to become the trusted adult a child remembers years from now.

The person who helped them find their confidence.

Who believed in them.

Who made school feel like a place where they belonged.

If you're ready to build something meaningful from September 2026, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and become the difference that lasts long after the school day ends.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
