Salary: starting from £49,387 per annum (pro rata) – Equivalent to NHS Band 7

About Ty Aberdafen

Ty Aberdafen is Brainkind's specialist neurological rehabilitation service in Llanelli, providing expert assessment, rehabilitation and ongoing support for adults living with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions.

Working within Brainkind's recognised Neurobehavioural Model, you'll join an experienced multidisciplinary team including Neuropsychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, Rehabilitation Support Workers and Medical Professionals.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to lead the Speech & Language Therapy provision within our specialist neurological rehabilitation service.

You'll manage your own specialist caseload while working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to assess, treat and support adults with complex acquired brain injuries, communication disorders and swallowing difficulties. You'll also contribute to service development and help shape high-quality rehabilitation programmes that maximise independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the Speech & Language Therapy service across Ty Aberdafen.

* Deliver specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adults with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions.

* Manage a complex caseload and develop personalised rehabilitation programmes.

* Assess and treat communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing difficulties.

* Deliver communication partner training and specialist advice to colleagues and families.

* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best rehabilitation outcomes.

* Contribute to service development, governance and continuous quality improvement.

* Produce high-quality clinical documentation, reports and outcome measures.

* Maintain compliance with HCPC standards and evidence-based practice.

About You

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Speech & Language Therapist with a passion for neurological rehabilitation.

You'll ideally have:

* Degree in Speech & Language Therapy.

* Current HCPC registration.

* Experience working with adults with acquired brain injury, neurological conditions or complex rehabilitation needs.

* Specialist knowledge of communication and swallowing disorders.

* Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.

* Experience managing complex clinical caseloads.

* Commitment to person-centred care and continuous professional development.

Desirable experience includes inpatient neurological rehabilitation, neurobehavioural rehabilitation, communication partner training and dysphagia management.
