Materials Planning & Logistics Analyst

ASL Technical is recruiting for an experienced Materials Planning & Logistics Analyst to join an innovative UK vehicle manufacturer. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring production runs smoothly by providing the insight, analysis and reporting that keeps materials flowing and manufacturing on track.

What you'll be doing
Working closely with the Operations and Manufacturing team, you'll analyse materials, inventory and logistics data to ensure production has everything it needs, when it needs it.
Your responsibilities will include:
Analysing ERP/MRP and inventory data to monitor material availability.
Producing reports covering stock levels, supplier performance and production readiness.
Identifying shortages, supply risks and inventory discrepancies before they impact production.
Supporting cycle counts and improving stock accuracy.
Working with Purchasing, Manufacturing and Logistics teams to resolve material issues.
Providing clear recommendations that improve planning, inventory control and operational efficiency.
Supporting new product introductions and ongoing continuous improvement activities.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who enjoys turning complex data into practical solutions.
You'll ideally have:
Experience within manufacturing, automotive, engineering or logistics.
Experience using ERP and/or MRP systems.
Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret operational data.
Good knowledge of inventory control and production support.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Strong communication skills with the confidence to work across multiple departments.
Desirable experience
Low-volume manufacturing or automotive experience.
Cycle counting and stock accuracy improvements.
Knowledge of BOMs and production planning.
Power BI or similar reporting tools.
Lean or Continuous Improvement experience.
