Service Designer - BPSS - Initial 3 months - £500pd Inside IR35

Location: North East England (Hybrid - onsite attendance in North East, required approximately once every two weeks)
Duration: Initial 3-month contract
Start Date: ASAP
Clearance: BPSS required

We are seeking an experienced Service Designer to support a high-profile digital transformation programme within a complex public sector environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a consultant who can quickly embed themselves within a fast-paced organisation, build strong stakeholder relationships, and deliver tangible value from day one.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience working within GDS (Government Digital Service) aligned environments.
• Demonstrable track record of operating successfully within complex organisations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to coach and support multidisciplinary teams.
• Available to interview and commence the assignment at short notice.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Facilitating and leading co-design workshops.
• Mapping current-state and future-state service journeys.
• Producing service blueprints, personas, and user experience maps.
• Strong understanding of information architecture.
• Designing accessible digital services that improve user experience and encourage digital adoption.
• Experience creating interaction designs that support effective channel shift strategies.

Working Arrangement

• Hybrid working model.
• Attendance at client offices in Morpeth approximately once every two weeks.
• Initial 3-month engagement with potential for extension.
