Are you a Chemistry or Environmental Science graduate looking to start your career in the environmental and waste management sector?
Our client is seeking a Site Chemist to support the safe handling, analysis and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on laboratory and site experience while receiving full training and development.
Responsibilities
Accept incoming waste loads and complete associated documentation.
Inspect, classify and segregate waste materials.
Ensure waste is labelled and described in accordance with ADR regulations.
Conduct laboratory analysis of site effluent and customer samples.
Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Maintain accurate records in line with Quality Management Systems.
Assist with preparing loads for dispatch via flatbed vehicles and vacuum tankers.
Requirements
Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
Alternatively, Chemistry A-Levels or Applied Science BTEC qualifications will be considered.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety.
Desirable
Experience within waste management or a similar industry.
Full UK Driving Licence.
