A leading UK engineering and manufacturing business is seeking experienced Fabricator / Welders to join its growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established manufacturer producing high-quality fabricated steel products within a modern, well-equipped facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding components to engineering drawings while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
* Measure, mark out, cut and prepare materials to specification.
* Fabricate and assemble metal components using engineering drawings.
* Carry out MIG welding and fabrication to a high standard.
* Ensure all required materials and components are available before assembly.
* Grind, finish and prepare completed fabrications.
* Complete quality inspections and associated documentation.
* Work safely and comply with all Health & Safety procedures.
* Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* Previous experience as a Fabricator / Welder within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Experience fabricating and welding mild steel.
* Experience working with mild steel, Zintec and galvanised sheet materials ranging from approximately 0.9mm to 30mm thickness.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Good understanding of fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques.
* Experience using a wide range of fabrication equipment and hand tools.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Good mathematical and measurement skills.
* Ability to handle and manoeuvre large fabricated components.
* Overhead crane experience would be advantageous.
* Welding qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.
Working Hours
The role is based on a 40-hour working week with the following shift options:
Days
* Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
* Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
Afternoons
* Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 12:30am
* Includes a 20% shift allowance.
Overtime (optional):
* Saturday: 6 hours
The business closes for all Bank Holidays and enjoys a full Christmas shutdown.
