THE ROLE
We are looking for a Customs Agent to join our clients Road Logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customs-related exceptions and supporting the smooth movement of shipments through customs processes.
You will work closely with internal teams, customers and relevant stakeholders to identify, investigate and resolve customs issues efficiently, while ensuring that processes remain compliant and service levels are maintained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage and resolve customs exceptions affecting road logistics shipments.
• Investigate customs-related issues and identify the appropriate solutions.
• Monitor shipments and follow up on outstanding customs requirements.
• Liaise with internal departments, customers and relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Ensure customs information and documentation are accurate and complete.
• Support the smooth and timely movement of goods through customs processes.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues when required.
• Maintain accurate records and provide updates on customs exceptions.
• Work in line with relevant customs, compliance and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce recurring customs exceptions.

You will be confident dealing with exceptions and resolving problems, while maintaining a professional approach when communicating with customers and colleagues.
You should also be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise your workload and work effectively as part of a wider team.

• Experience in logistics, road transport, customs or a related operational environment.
• Strong problem-solving and investigation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

• A strong understanding of the importance of customs compliance and accurate documentation.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
