Join us as a Support Worker and provide motivational support and guidance to our participants, both on an individual and group basis, from initial engagement and assessment through to exit from the programme.

You’ll work from one of our CFO Activity Hubs, aimed at providing tailored support to offenders following release from prison and to those serving community sentences. Alongside our established team, you’ll, lead and participate in hub activities and interventions, enabling our participants to change their lives and make a positive contribution to the local community.

We need your excellent planning and communication skills as you provide regular keywork and group sessions to a caseload of our participants. Following an initial assessment, you’ll create a plan tailored to individual needs. Whilst adhering to contractual targets and requirements, you’ll provide ongoing motivational support and review progress, adjusting the plan where necessary and reinforcing positive outcomes.

Our successful candidate will ideally have experience in probation/social care or experience working within the criminal justice sector. However, we appreciate that not everyone can tick every single box, so we’re looking for someone confident who is comfortable working with a diverse range of people from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances and can coach/mentor them.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we're offering a competitive salary of £25,877 - £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Hours: The core hours are Monday to Friday between 10 and 4, and some work may be required in the evening and/or Saturdays to total 37 hours per week. We operate a flexible working policy to reflect the flexible opening times of the Hubs and for the benefit of employees.
Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

* Undertake Key Worker responsibilities for a participant caseload

* Lead and contribute to the delivery of a range of Activity Hub activities

* Contribute to the creation and provision of a welcoming and inclusive environment

* Develop positive stakeholder relationships, raising awareness of the hub and its contribution to the community

* Ensure all contractual targets are met

Skills & Experience

* Recent criminal justice operational knowledge/experience – desirable

* Experience managing a caseload of participants - desirable

* Coaching/mentoring skills

* Experience in a target-driven environment

* Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to relate to people at all levels and in a variety of settings

* Ability to motivate and sustain engagement of individuals
