The Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding are maintained at all times.
You will lead by example, helping to motivate and develop the team while creating an inspiring learning environment where children can flourish. In the Nursery Manager's absence, you will confidently oversee the day-to-day operation of the setting and ensure continuity of outstanding practice.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who is passionate about early years education and enjoys supporting both children and colleagues to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership and organisation of the nursery.
* Lead the setting in the Nursery Manager's absence.
* Inspire, motivate and mentor practitioners to deliver outstanding childcare and education.
* Ensure the nursery operates in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), safeguarding legislation and statutory requirements.
* Promote high-quality teaching, learning and child development across the setting.
* Assist with staff supervision, inductions, appraisals and ongoing professional development.
* Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and external professionals.
* Support occupancy, staffing ratios and the efficient day-to-day running of the nursery.
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and Ofsted readiness.
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
About You
We're looking for a motivated and supportive leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional early years education.
You will have:
* A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 or above desirable).
* Previous experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Room Leader, Third in Charge or within another senior role in an early years setting.
* Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), safeguarding legislation and Ofsted requirements.
* An Enhanced DBS check and Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
