Assembler (Electro-Mechanical)
Pay: £12.71 per hour + opportunities to increase your rate as you develop in the role
Location: Littlehampton
Hours: 7am to 4:15pm (Monday to Thursday) 7am to 12pm (Friday)
Contract: Rolling contract basis
Our client, a well-established manufacturer, is looking for a reliable Assembler to join their team in Littlehampton. You'll carry out routine electronic / electro-mechanical assembly on components and sub-assemblies, working to production schedules and quality standards. Tasks are standardised, but the day-to-day work may vary.
Key responsibilities
Assemble, modify, rework and re-assemble units using Operational Method Sheets, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions
Use electronic assembly equipment safely and correctly
Work on semi-routine assemblies, with the ability to spot and highlight non-conformities
Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and supervisors
Follow all health & safety requirements at all times
Work in line with ISO practices and procedures
Maintain fixtures and complete calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance where required
Support the training of other employees in established processes (where appropriate)
Consider the impact of quality on the end customer when making decisions
Occasional travel may be required
What we're looking for
Minimum 1 year's electro-mechanical assembly experience (or equivalent)
Previous soldering experience
Comfortable working under limited supervision
Able to work accurately and ensure tasks are completed fully and correctly
Confidence to contribute to corrective actions and continuous improvement
Basic IT skills (e.g., Word, Outlook) and ability to learn internal systems
Basic understanding of SAP and change/control processes is helpful
Working conditions
Environment: Manufacturing facility
Physical requirements: Standing, sitting, walking, and manual handling including lifting/carrying, pushing and pulling (without assistance)
