As Head of Project Delivery at Northern Gas Networks (NGN), you will lead a team responsible for delivering some of the most important change initiatives, spanning both technology and business transformation. This is an opportunity to shape how projects are delivered across the business, ensuring they are well-planned, well-governed and deliver real value.

Working closely with senior leaders, colleagues and delivery partners, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects while helping to set the direction for the 3iG roadmap. You will bring strong leadership, commercial awareness and project delivery expertise, creating an environment where teams can thrive and perform at their best.

A full UK driving licence is a requirement for this role

In this role you will

Lead, coach and develop a team of Project Managers, supporting performance, capability and succession planning

Set consistent delivery standards across planning, reporting, RAID management, financial control and benefits tracking

Own portfolio governance, including stage gates, steering groups and data-led decision making

Provide clear executive reporting, options analysis and escalation of key risks, including cyber, regulatory and safety considerations

Partner with Commercial Services on sourcing, supplier performance and contract outcomes

Oversee service transition, ensuring projects are handed over smoothly with the right support models, documentation and ownership in place

Shape annual portfolio roadmaps and prioritisation in line with NGN strategy and regulatory milestones

Build a culture of continuous improvement, learning and psychological safety across the team

We are looking for

PRINCE2 Practitioner and ITIL Foundation qualified

Significant experience leading complex IT and business change portfolios, programmes or projects

A proven people leader with strong coaching and development skills

Strong knowledge of project governance, planning, risk and financial management

Experience delivering projects through both Agile and Waterfall methodologies

Solid IT Service Management expertise, including service transition and operational support frameworks

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels

Strong commercial awareness, including supplier and contract management

Desirable - MSP, M_o_R, Certified Scrum Master or P3O qualifications, or equivalent project delivery certifications
