My Dublin based client is recruiting for a Senior Solutions Architect (Big Data & Streaming Platforms) this is a daily rate contract working on a hybrid model. We're looking for a Senior Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale big data, streaming, and Real Time integration solutions. This is a hands-on architecture role focused on designing scalable, resilient data platforms using Cloudera, Kafka, Spark, and AWS, working closely with engineering teams from design through delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for big data and streaming platforms.
• Design scalable solutions across Cloudera CDP/CDH, Kafka, Spark, HBase, NiFi, Flink, Hive, and AWS.
• Architect Real Time data pipelines, event-driven integration, APIs, and distributed data platforms.
• Produce high-level designs and present solutions to architecture governance.
• Provide technical leadership, review designs, and ensure solutions meet enterprise standards.

Essential Experience

• 10+ years' IT experience, including 5+ years in Solution Architecture.
• Proven experience designing enterprise big data and streaming solutions.
• Strong experience with Cloudera CDP/CDH, Kafka, and distributed data platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge of several of: Spark, HBase, NiFi, Flink, Hive, Impala, Spring Boot, Java, Python/PySpark, Airflow, REST APIs, and AWS.
• Strong understanding of Real Time/event-driven architectures, scalability, resilience, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Candidates must have demonstrable experience in solution architecture for distributed big data platforms, streaming systems, event-driven integration, or Real Time data applications.
• Be an architect first, with strong hands-on engineering awareness.
• Have designed real production solutions using Kafka, Cloudera, Spark, HBase, APIs, or equivalent technologies.
• Understand both architecture-level trade-offs and engineering-level implementation constraints.
• Be comfortable challenging, reviewing, and improving technical designs.
• Be able to work with senior stakeholders while also engaging deeply with engineering teams.
• Have practical experience delivering scalable, resilient, secure, Real Time or near-Real Time data platforms.
