About the Role
Supply Desk is searching for a dedicated and creative Primary SEN Teacher to join a welcoming primary setting in the Radlett area. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young learners with Special Educational Needs during their crucial early years of education.
In this role, you will create a supportive and stimulating environment where primary-aged pupils with diverse needs can build foundational skills, grow in confidence, and thrive both socially and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate primary lessons tailored to individual learning abilities and stages.
Support primary pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), and sensory needs.
Establish a safe, nurturing, and structured primary classroom that encourages exploration and positive learning experiences.
Track individual progress and update records in alignment with Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
Collaborate effectively with Teaching Assistants, speech and language therapists, parents, and external specialists.
Promote positive behavior, nurture emotional wellbeing, and foster independence in young learners.
Adapt primary teaching methods and resource materials to ensure every child remains engaged and supported.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS, or equivalent) with primary teaching experience.
A proven track record of working with primary-aged children with Special Educational Needs.
Solid understanding of primary curriculum adaptation and EHCP target implementation.
Excellent communication skills and strong, positive classroom management techniques suitable for primary pupils.
A patient, warm, and resilient approach to SEN education.
Unwavering commitment to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children.
