Pay: £13.92 PAYE per hour
Job Type: Temporary (Until the end of August with possible extension)
Location: Darwin Court, 1 Crail Row, London, SE17 1AD
Working Pattern: Shift-based, including evenings and Saturdays

The Role

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Receptionist / Community Hub Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of a busy community hub. This varied role combines front-of-house reception duties, administrative support, customer service, room booking coordination, and operational support to ensure the centre is maintained to a high standard and provides an excellent experience for all visitors.

The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach to work, with the ability to support community programmes, activities, and events through regular evening and weekend working.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Welcome visitors and provide a professional and positive first impression.
Respond to enquiries in person, by telephone, and via email.
Manage room bookings and assist with the coordination of community activities and events.
Process payments and maintain accurate booking and financial records where required.
Provide general administrative support to the centre team.
Set up rooms and facilities for programmed activities and room hire bookings.
Carry out cleaning duties in accordance with agreed schedules, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the building.
Operate specialist cleaning equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
Report and follow up on any maintenance issues, defects, or health and safety concerns.
Ensure cleaning products and chemicals are used and stored in line with COSHH regulations.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a first-class customer experience.
Support the smooth and efficient operation of the community hub at all times.Required Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a reception, customer service, administrative, or community-focused role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Good IT skills and confidence using booking systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
Customer-focused approach with a professional and welcoming manner.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of health and safety requirements within a facilities or community environment.
Experience setting up rooms, supporting events, or assisting with facility operations would be advantageous.
Flexible approach to working evenings and weekends when required.What We're Looking For
