Part-Time Payroll & Benefits Specialist

22.5 hours per week | Theatre & Arts Sector

A new opportunity has opened for a knowledgeable, calm, and friendly payroll professional to join a well-established HR & Reward team at the heart of a vibrant theatre and arts organisation. This role is ideal for someone seeking a long-term position where their strong work ethic, accuracy, and supportive nature can truly shine.

You'll take a hands-on role in managing monthly in-house payroll, while also serving as the main point of contact for staff benefits, reward schemes, and pensions. Working closely with the HR team, you'll help ensure the smooth financial running of a creative organisation that values collaboration, kindness, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Collate, check, and validate all payroll information.
Identify discrepancies and correct them promptly.
Work closely with senior leaders across the organisation.
Recommend positive changes to enhance payroll processes.
Perform regular checks to ensure financial accuracy.
Manage staff entries/exits from benefit schemes and resolve related queries.
Work in partnership with HR to deliver timely payroll cycles.
Prepare and submit statutory returns.
Prepare and process payroll payments within set deadlines.
Maintain communication with external agencies regarding leavers and deductions.
Respond to payroll queries while safeguarding personal data.
Manage monthly pension tasks and communications.

Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will bring:

Payroll experience within HR or Finance teams.
Confidence working with both permanent and casual staff.
Excellent communication, organisation, and a calm, friendly approach.
A commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork.

From time to time, you may be asked to support tasks outside the core responsibilities listed above. These will always fall within the scope and capability of the role.
