Senior Quantity Surveyor - Lead the Commercial Success of Major Highways Projects
You're an experienced Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership, influencing commercial decisions and seeing complex civil engineering projects delivered safely, on time and within budget. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a leading role within multidisciplinary project teams, using your expertise to shape the commercial success of some of the most interesting highways and infrastructure schemes across the Leeds area. You'll have the autonomy to make a real impact while working alongside experienced professionals who value your knowledge and support your continued development.
Take the Lead on Highways Infrastructure Projects
My client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of highways and infrastructure projects. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be a trusted commercial lead, building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams while ensuring projects achieve profitable and sustainable outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
·Prepare and submit interim payment applications and project final accounts.
·Manage commercial activities using NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract.
·Raise and manage early warnings, helping to reduce project risks.
·Notify, assess and submit quotations for compensation events.
·Procure subcontractors in line with project programmes.
·Administer subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
·Assess subcontractor payment applications, issue payment notices and arrange payments.
·Agree subcontract final accounts.
·Measure quantities on site and from drawings where required.
·Produce accurate internal valuations, subcontract liabilities and cost value reconciliations in line with commercial reporting requirements.
·Work closely with project teams to monitor progress and effectively manage risks and opportunities.
·Help ensure accurate and high-quality site records are maintained.
·Support additional commercial duties where required within the scope of the role.

Qualifications & Experience
·Experience working on civil engineering or highways projects.
·Strong knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
·Experience managing commercial responsibilities across multiple projects.
