The Opportunity

We're looking for a talented and inquisitive Plasma Researcher to join our growing Research & Development team in Hull.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a scientist, physicist or engineer who is passionate about solving complex technical challenges and wants to work on genuinely world-changing technology.

Working alongside our Mechanical, Electrical and Test Engineering teams, you will conduct fundamental research, analyse data from our development systems, and help shape the next generation of hydrogen production and carbon management technologies. You'll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your work will directly influence product development and commercial deployment.

What You'll Be Doing

To manage the supply of goods and services from external suppliers on behalf of HiiROC. The Buyer plays a crucial role in the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery, cost effective solutions and minimising risks in relation to availability and quality whilst ensuring that approved suppliers meet the expectations of HiiROC policies.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Identify, evaluate and on-board suppliers that offer the best value to HiiROC in terms of cost, capacity, capability, quality, service and compliance.

Ensure that supply risks and mitigating actions are identified and pursued to an effective solution.

Support the preparation and progression of Request for Quotation (RFQ) alongside Technical and Operational colleagues to satisfy business-wide requirements including compliance in a timely and professional manner.

Facilitate Technical and Commercial reviews and the Supplier approval process (including contractual agreements) ensuring necessary authorisations are captured.

Process and expedite purchase orders in accordance with company guidelines to mitigate risks in cost, availability, quality and safety.

Help in invoice clarification and dispute settlement as required.

Plan the purchase of materials & services as and when required to meet the HiiROC schedule and to optimise inventory levels using appropriate Supply Chain models.

Assist in the management of the Bill of Materials records and change process to ensure traceability in the Supply Chain, and materials flow into HiiROC unit assembly. Maintain BOM records to enable efficient cost and budget management.

Maintain the supplier relationship with regular review meetings to evaluate performance and continuous improvement opportunities.

Advise and mentor non-Procurement personnel to promote an improved understanding of Supply Chain and Procurement protocols and process improvements.

Ensure the storing of auditable records of all procurement documents observing Document Control protocols

Assist with the development and administration of company procedures.

Use and input to the development of management information systems to ensure the availability of valid and timely management reports

* Relevant procurement experience in the engineering sector and a willingness to study for professional accreditation

* Knowledge of Quality Management systems

* Objective and open minded in stakeholder engagement. Able to effectively challenge the status quo
