Junior Vehicle CCTV & Telematics Engineer
Locations: Field-based across Manchester / Birmingham / Bristol
Two vacancies available Are you practical, hands-on and interested in developing a career in vehicle technology?
We are looking for two Junior Vehicle CCTV & Telematics Engineers to join our growing field engineering team, supporting customers across Bedford and London areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in vehicle installations, auto electrics, mechanical fitting or vehicle accessory installation who would like to build their knowledge of CCTV, dashcams and connected fleet technology.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will support the installation, maintenance and repair of technology fitted to commercial and fleet vehicles. As your knowledge and confidence develop, you will progress towards managing installation and service work independently.
What you’ll be doing
*
Assisting with the installation and servicing of vehicle CCTV, dashcams, cameras, DVR/MDVR systems and telematics devices.
*
Supporting planned maintenance, reactive service work and basic fault diagnosis.
*
Troubleshooting vehicle electrical, connectivity, camera and recording issues.
*
Working across a variety of vehicles, including vans, HGVs, buses and specialist fleet vehicles.
*
Following wiring diagrams, installation standards and safe working practices.
*
Completing accurate job sheets, installation records, photographs and service reports.
*
Maintaining tools, equipment, stock and vehicle standards.
*
Representing the business professionally while working at customer and key account sites.
What we’re looking for
You will ideally have around two years’ experience within vehicle installations, auto electrics, mechanical fitting or a similar hands-on automotive environment.
You will also need:
*
A practical understanding of vehicle electrics, wiring routes and basic fault finding.
*
Basic knowledge of 12v and 24v vehicle electrical systems.
*
Confidence using hand tools and working on commercial or fleet vehicles.
*
Good attention to detail and pride in completing work to a high standard.
*
The ability to follow technical instructions and documented installation processes.
*
A reliable, flexible and customer-focused approach.
*
A full UK driving licence.
Experience with vehicle CCTV, dashcams, video telematics, AI cameras, ADAS, DSM, DVS or connected fleet technology would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
Auto-electrical, mechanical or engineering qualifications, along with IPAF, PASMA or working-at-height awareness, would also be beneficial.
Working arrangements
This is a field-based position involving regular travel to customer sites across your allocated region. Flexibility will be required around start and finish times, customer access, occasional overtime and some Saturday work.
In return, you will receive hands-on training, support from experienced engineers and the opportunity to build a long-term career within the fast-growing vehicle CCTV and telematics industry
