We're recruiting an experienced Purchasing / Procurement Manager to join a growing hospitality group supporting multiple properties across the Southampton area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of purchasing, procurement, inventory and stores operations within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
This Purchasing Manager position is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for centralising purchasing processes, strengthening supplier relationships and implementing consistent stock management procedures across the business. You'll have the autonomy to introduce new ideas, improve efficiencies and make a genuine impact on operational performance.

The Role
As the Purchasing Manager you will report to the Cluster General Manager, oversee purchasing, procurement and inventory management across several hospitality properties, ensuring the business receives the best value from suppliers while maintaining accurate stock control and compliance.
Key responsibilities include
* Managing procurement activities and negotiating competitive pricing, contracts and supplier agreements.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and sourcing new supply partners.
* Managing the purchase order process, ensuring approvals, accurate ordering and timely deliveries.
* Overseeing stores operations, ensuring organised storage, stock rotation and compliance with FIFO/FEFO principles.
* Managing goods-in procedures, checking deliveries against purchase orders and supplier documentation.
* Leading stock control processes, including stock issuing, inventory management, cycle counts and annual stocktakes.
* Producing KPI reports covering stock accuracy, stock turnover, inventory levels and shrinkage.
* Setting stock holding levels and reorder points to ensure operational efficiency.
* Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and consistent documentation across all sites.
* Ensuring compliance with food safety, health & safety and chemical storage regulations.
About You
We're looking for an organised, commercially minded Purchasing or Procurement professional who enjoys improving processes, building supplier relationships and driving operational efficiencies.
You'll ideally have
* At least three years' experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory or Stores Management.
* Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
* Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, with experience using purchasing or stock management systems.
* The ability to analyse stock data and identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs.
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to work independently.
* A full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
* Hospitality, hotel, food & beverage or leisure sector experience.
* Multi-site purchasing or procurement experience.
* Experience implementing SOPs and improving operational processes.
* CIPS qualification or equivalent supply chain qualification.
