Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager - HS2 (C2)
Banbury | Permanent
Up to £100,000 (higher for the right CM experience) + Benefits
Our client, a leading main contractor, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor - or a Commercial Manager for the right candidate - to join their team on a major infrastructure project (HS2).
You'll take ownership of commercial management on a high-profile infrastructure project, working closely with the operational team to protect and maximise contractual entitlements. Depending on experience, this role could suit someone ready to step up into a Commercial Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
Promote a safety-first culture across all project activities
Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and company processes
Understand contract terms and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Maintain accurate records to support contractual entitlements
Prepare and submit applications, securing payment and variations
Manage subcontract accounts through to final account
Monitor progress and provide accurate commercial reporting
Support negotiation and settlement of the final account with the client
For CM-level candidates: broader oversight of the commercial team and project commercial strategyWhat We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with an MEP background
Alternatively, a strong NEC and infrastructure background will be considered
Degree/HNC level qualification and/or significant relevant experience
Experience managing change and subcontract accounts
Good working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts
Candidates with Commercial Manager-level experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered for a higher packageSalary & Benefits
Up to £100,000 basic salary (negotiable for candidates with Commercial Manager experience)
£300 per month car allowance (non-car, fixed)
London Travel Allowance up to £10,000
Project bonus scheme (details available from the hiring manager)
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
