Finance Assistant - Data Project
We are currently supporting Coventry University in recruiting a Finance Assistant to support a large-scale data project preparing for the 2026-27 academic year.
The successful candidate will have strong experience working with data and Excel, including the ability to manipulate and merge datasets, use formatting, pivot tables and formulas. Experience using more advanced data processing tools, such as Excel Macros or Tableau Prep, would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing datasets for 2026-27 uploads across academic schools.
Downloading module-related activities, formatting data and preparing it for re-upload.
Liaising with academic teams to obtain information for new modules being introduced for 2026-27.
Maintaining data trackers to monitor progress and ensure information is received and processed promptly.
Liaising with academic teams to obtain module activity information for upload and allocation.
Uploading staff and module data provided by academic teams.
Liaising with academic teams to understand their requirements for non-module activities.
Supporting academic teams with uploads and manual allocations to these activities.
Carrying out 2026-27 data completeness and accuracy checks.
Cross-checking 2026-27 data against other sources of information, including module information from Universe and staff lists, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
About You
You will need excellent attention to detail and strong data management skills, with the ability to work confidently with large datasets and identify discrepancies or missing information.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with academic teams and Coventry University staff to gather the information required to complete the project successfully.
