The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects. Working closely with Directors, Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, clients, and subcontractors, you will take ownership of the operational delivery of projects, ensuring exceptional standards are maintained throughout every stage.
You will be responsible for overseeing several live sites at any one time, providing leadership, guidance, and support to site teams while ensuring projects are commercially successful and delivered to programme.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the delivery of multiple construction projects from start to finish.
Lead and support Site Managers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Monitor project programmes, budgets, resources, and overall performance.
Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practice.
Identify and proactively resolve project challenges to minimise delays and maximise efficiency.
Attend site visits, progress meetings, and client meetings, providing regular updates on project performance.
Coordinate labour, materials, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
Drive quality standards and ensure projects exceed client expectations.
Support the commercial team in managing project costs and contractual obligations.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Contracts Manager who can confidently lead projects and motivate teams while maintaining excellent client relationships.
You will have:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Contracts Manager role.
A trade background (essential).
Extensive knowledge of construction processes and project management.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Sound commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
Full UK driving licence.
