Inside IR35: Rate £400.00 - £414.00
Our client, a reputable organisation, is hiring a skilled Platform Engineer to support the ongoing development of their Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This vital role focuses on enhancing cloud infrastructure, implementing DevOps automation, and ensuring the platform remains secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
What you'll be doing:
. Manage, support, and improve the Azure-hosted Enterprise Data Platform.
. Administer and optimise Databricks infrastructure for stability, security, and performance.
. Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
. Develop automated deployment pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD best practices.
. Embed security, compliance, and governance within platform delivery through DevSecOps.
. Monitor platform health, performance, and operational metrics.
. Drive cloud cost optimisation initiatives, including budgeting, tagging, and reporting.
. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance platform capabilities and troubleshoot issues.
. Contribute to architecture decisions, automation strategies, and engineering standards.
What you'll bring:
. Proven experience managing Databricks infrastructure in cloud environments.
. Strong background in administering cloud-based data platforms within Microsoft Azure.
. Hands-on expertise with Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
. Knowledge of cloud governance, security frameworks, and operational controls.
. Familiarity with FinOps principles, cost management, and optimisation strategies.
. Experience working within Agile teams and stakeholder management skills.
. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication abilities.
Required skills:
. Microsoft Azure (Storage, Networking, Key Vault, Monitoring, Azure AD)
. Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
. DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines)
. Monitoring and FinOps (Azure Cost Management, Databricks Cost Reporting, Logging)
