Inspire. Support. Empower.

Are you a passionate SEN Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with complex needs?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join a highly regarded specialist secondary setting in Aylesbury, supporting pupils aged 11-19 with a range of learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory needs, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a nurturing and forward-thinking school community where every achievement is celebrated, every pupil is valued, and learning is tailored to individual needs.

The Opportunity

This specialist provision is committed to providing a rich, meaningful, and highly personalised education for pupils with complex needs. Through a combination of therapeutic support, sensory learning, communication development, and life-skills-based education, pupils are empowered to achieve their fullest potential both inside and outside the classroom.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in helping students build confidence, develop independence, and engage in learning that is both accessible and rewarding.

Your Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

✅ Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with complex learning needs, including PMLD.

✅ Create sensory-rich and communication-focused learning experiences.

✅ Support pupils' personal development, independence, and preparation for adulthood.

✅ Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to deliver holistic learning programmes.

✅ Monitor progress against EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets.

✅ Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.

✅ Adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of physical, cognitive, sensory, and communication needs.

✅ Build strong relationships with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

We're Looking For

✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

✔️ Experience working within an SEN environment, ideally supporting pupils with complex needs and PMLD.

✔️ A strong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches.

✔️ Knowledge of communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, AAC, or similar approaches.

✔️ A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to supporting young people with additional needs.

✔️ A commitment to inclusive education and helping every learner achieve success.

Why Join This School?

Supportive and highly experienced leadership team.

Excellent specialist facilities and resources.

Collaborative multidisciplinary working environment.

Opportunities for ongoing professional development and SEN-focused training.

The chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with complex needs every day.

Opportunity to secure a permanent role.
