Accounts Assistant
Location: Kingswinford
Salary: £28,000–£32,000
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Arrangement: On-site
We are recruiting an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the busy finance team of a successful, high-volume retail business based in Kingswinford.
This varied role covers both sales and purchase ledger responsibilities and would suit someone confident working with large volumes of financial data in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Processing purchase invoices, credit notes and employee expenses
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
Responding to supplier queries and managing the accounts inbox
Processing credit card claims and petty cash reconciliations
Monitoring aged creditors and outstanding balances
Completing daily banking procedures
Posting, allocating and reconciling store takings
Investigating sales ledger discrepancies and liaising with stores
Reviewing aged debtor reports and resolving outstanding items
Supporting turnover reporting and other ad-hoc finance duties
Skills and Experience
Previous sales and purchase ledger experience is essential
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data
AAT qualified or currently studying towards an AAT qualification
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Experience supporting management accounts would be advantageous
