Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security and Manufacturing sectors, is currently seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join their Quality department within the Cabs and Consoles/ Naval division. This permanent role will involve ensuring that manufactured items conform to quality and dimensional requirements, with a focus on utilising advanced inspection technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and examine assembled, fabricated, machined, and surface-treated parts using 3D scanning technology.
Work/inspect at suppliers' sites as required.
Use non-programmable CMM arms for First Article Inspections (training provided).
Conduct systematic inspections of mechanical assemblies to ensure conformity with standards and bills of material.
Actively participate in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and Lessons Learnt activities to improve product quality.
Support the Quality Control Team and Manufacturing Cells by providing inspection assistance.
Inspect piece parts throughout the manufacturing process and record inspection status.
Assist with First Article Inspection Report generation and act as Team Lead Designate in the absence of the Team Lead.
Adopt a flexible approach to working hours to meet output and customer requirements.
Undertake other tasks as identified by the business in line with the company's interests and development.

Job Requirements:

Professional working manner and commitment to operating in the company's interests.
Flexibility and willingness to undertake various responsibilities.
Excellent attention to detail with good working knowledge of Microsoft software packages.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Experience of manufacturing and inspection techniques, with experience in precision manufacturing environments.
Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings.
Competent in using measuring equipment, including micrometers, digital calipers, and gauges.
