We are looking for an enthusiastic Electronic Engineer to join a highly successful engineering business developing some of the world's most advanced marine sonar systems. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit engineering team where you'll play a key role in the design, development and testing of innovative electronic hardware.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll be involved throughout the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through to production and ongoing product support. This role would suit someone with a strong electronics background who enjoys solving technical challenges and is looking to continue developing their skills across PCB design, embedded systems and FPGA technology.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop analogue and digital electronic hardware for advanced sonar systems.
Capture schematics and support the design of multi-layer PCBs using Altium Designer.
Develop embedded firmware and support FPGA-based designs.
Carry out electronic hardware testing, validation and fault finding.
Support the development of automated test equipment and Design for Test (DFT) processes.
Produce accurate engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.
Support production, product improvements and through-life engineering activities.Key Skills & Experience

Degree qualified (2:1 or above) in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronic design.
Experience with schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer.
Experience testing and fault finding electronic hardware.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
A proactive approach and willingness to learn new technologies.Desirable Skills

Embedded C/C++ programming experience.
FPGA development experience using VHDL.
Experience with Intel Quartus Prime.
Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet, SPI, I2C, RS232 and RS485.
Experience supporting products through manufacture and production.
Understanding of Design for Test (DFT) and automated test equipment.
Master's degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.What's on Offer
