Client Overview Our client specialises in the manufacturing of bespoke low voltage switchgear, producing distribution boards, panel boards, transformers, and containerised substations to meet diverse client requirements. Responsibilities
Develop detailed electrical designs and schematics for LV switchgear using CAD software, ensuring all designs meet regulatory and safety requirements
Produce functional design specifications for the control of LV protection devices
Manage electrical LV projects from concept through to installation and commissioning
Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery, including organising and attending FAT & SAT tests
Collaborate with the estimating team to convert draft concepts into functional designs
Provide technical support to manufacturing and sales teams
Prepare and oversee production of technical submissions and operating/maintenance manuals
Report project progress to the Engineering Director, identifying and resolving issues collaborativelyMust‑have Requirements
HNC in Electrical Engineering
Previous experience in switchgear and electrical control system design
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP SEE Electrical or similar)
Strong knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations, BS EN 61439 and IEC standards
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and panel layouts
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Right to work in the UKNice‑to‑have Skills
HND/Degree in an electrical discipline
Experience with MCC wiring and PLC programming
Ability to incorporate HV packages into LV design schemesBenefits
