CAD Technician
This is not a product design or mechanical design position.
Instead, you'll be responsible for producing detailed 2D layout drawings for commercial engineering installations, creating accurate site layouts and installation plans that support project delivery from concept through to completion.
Working closely with project managers, customers and contractors, you'll interpret project requirements, existing building layouts and technical information to produce clear, accurate drawing packages for installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate 2D layout drawings using AutoCAD.
* Create and amend workshop, facility and equipment layout plans.
* Interpret customer requirements, site information and technical sketches into professional drawing packages.
* Develop installation and construction layout drawings for commercial engineering projects.
* Liaise with customers, architects, contractors and internal project teams throughout the design process.
* Ensure drawings meet project specifications, compliance requirements and agreed timescales.
* Maintain organised drawing records and document control.
* Support project delivery by providing accurate layout information throughout each project.
About You
You'll ideally have experience producing layout or installation drawings rather than product design drawings.
Candidates from backgrounds such as commercial fit-out, construction, building services, M&E, architectural layouts, industrial facilities, workspace planning or similar environments are encouraged to apply.
You'll also have:
* At least 3 years' experience using AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
* A proactive approach and the confidence to work under your own initiative.
