Engineering Parts Coordinator

Location: Swindon
Salary: £25,000–£28,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Monday–Friday | Full time | Overtime Available

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering company specialising in the manufacture of high-precision components. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a highly organised, proactive and detail-focused Engineering Parts Coordinator to join their team.

This is a varied and hands-on role combining both workshop and office responsibilities. You will work closely with skilled technicians, engineers, customers and internal teams to ensure components, documentation and production requirements are managed accurately and efficiently.

The successful candidate will spend a significant amount of time within the workshop, accurately selecting, preparing and controlling intricate engineering parts and equipment required for production. You will also provide administrative support from the office, managing emails, handling incoming calls and liaising with customers and internal stakeholders.

This role would suit someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, is comfortable being hands-on, and takes pride in accuracy, organisation and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately pick and prepare precision-engineered components and equipment for technicians.
Cross-reference work orders, engineering documentation and production requirements to ensure the correct parts are issued.
Maintain full traceability of components throughout the manufacturing process.
Carry out stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies with parts, documentation or stock levels.
Support technicians by ensuring all required components and equipment are available when needed.
Prepare and package completed orders ready for quality inspection and assembly.
Manage incoming phone calls and emails, providing professional communication with customers and suppliers.
Liaise with clients and internal departments to provide updates and resolve queries.
Work to deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a busy engineering environment.
Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Excel and internal systems.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with exceptional attention to detail.

About You

Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing, production or a technical environment.
Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using computer systems.
A professional telephone manner with confidence speaking to customers and suppliers.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working with stock control, parts management or technical documentation.
The ability to accurately follow work orders and maintain full traceability.
Knowledge of engineering drawings or technical specifications would be advantageous.
The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively.
A practical approach and willingness to be hands-on within a workshop environment.

Requirements

This is a physically active role requiring time spent on your feet within the workshop, selecting and preparing components.
Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and efficiency are essential.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities are key.
