Cyber Security Analyst – North London – Local Authority

£300 - £400+ per day (negotiable depending on experience)

Hybrid working available

6 months initial contract – likely to be extended

Job Responsibilities:

* Proactively identify, investigate, and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and clear escalation where required.

* Work across Digital Services and business areas to drive improvements in cyber security practices, ensuring risks are understood and addressed.

* Support the organisation’s security monitoring and incident response capability, using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel alongside other platforms.

* Provide practical, actionable advice to technical and non-technical stakeholders to strengthen security resilience.

You must have:

* Strong experience in cyber security operations, including security monitoring, incident response, and threat detection.

* Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel strongly desirable, but not the sole focus).

* Good understanding of log analysis, threat hunting, and security event correlation across enterprise systems.

* Experience of working directly within a local authority.
