The Role
As a Senior CAD Technician, you will work alongside Design Engineers and the wider design team to produce high-quality engineering drawings and models across a range of water infrastructure projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Producing accurate engineering drawings and Civil 3D models to programme and budget.
* Working closely with Design Engineers to develop and deliver design drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
* Producing drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D, ensuring compliance with company, industry and client standards.
* Applying standard details, templates and design standards to produce consistent, high-quality deliverables.
* Working in accordance with established design processes, quality procedures and document control systems.
* Using ProjectWise and other document management systems to manage project documentation.
* Managing your workload, accurately recording time and assisting with estimating CAD task durations.
* Reviewing drawings to minimise rework while maintaining quality throughout the design process.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the continuous improvement of CAD standards and best practice.
About You
Essential
* Minimum of 4 years' experience in a CAD Technician or similar role.
* Strong experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D.
* Good understanding of engineering principles and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
* HNC (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Experience delivering projects within the regulated water sector or wider utilities/infrastructure sectors.
* Working knowledge of relevant CAD standards and engineering drawing practices.
* Experience using ProjectWise or similar document management software.
* Experience using Revit and producing reinforcement drawings/bar bending schedules.
