Engineering Supervisor / Team Leader
Role Purpose
To provide effective maintenance support across the site, ensuring machinery and production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role will focus primarily on mechanical maintenance with some electrical support, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a range of production machinery.
Support breakdown response to minimise production downtime.
Maintain and repair:
Chains, belts, bearings, and drive systems
Pumps and valves
Bagging machinery
Conveyors and mixers
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Carry out equipment inspections and identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist with fault finding and basic electrical troubleshooting.
PLC fault finding experience would be advantageous.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Work collaboratively with production teams to improve equipment reliability.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
Maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience within the food/FMCG sector preferred.
Strong mechanical maintenance background.
NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent).
Experience working with industrial machinery and production equipment.
Good understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.Desirable:
PLC fault finding experience.
Electrical maintenance knowledge.
Experience working within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
