Our client is a leading manufacturing business supplying high-quality components to a range of demanding industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CMM Engineer to join their quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong metrology experience who is confident programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using PC-DMIS software.

The Role

As a CMM Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for creating, developing and optimising CMM inspection programmes, carrying out first-off and final inspections, and supporting production with technical quality expertise.

Duties

* Program, operate and maintain CMMs using PC-DMIS software.

* Create and optimise inspection programmes for new and existing components.

* Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections.

* Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.

* Produce accurate inspection reports and quality documentation.

* Investigate dimensional non-conformances and support root cause analysis.

* Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.

* Ensure calibration and inspection equipment is maintained in line with quality procedures.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.

* Previous experience as a CMM Engineer, CMM Programmer or Quality Engineer.

* Essential experience programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS.

* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).

* Experience using a variety of precision measuring equipment.

* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

* Good communication and organisational skills.

* Experience within aerospace, automotive, precision engineering or advanced manufacturing.

* Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality standards.

* Experience with FAIRs and customer quality documentation.
