Instrument Technician - Glasgow - Competitive Salary

Our client is seeking an experienced Instrument & Process Control Technician to join their engineering team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly automated continuous manufacturing environment, supporting the maintenance, optimisation and improvement of instrumentation and process control systems.

Are you who we're looking for?

HND (minimum) or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Process Control or a related discipline

Previous experience within a continuous manufacturing or process industry environment

Strong knowledge of instrumentation, process control systems and industrial automation

Experience working with PLCs, DCS and SCADA systems

Experience supporting process control projects and control system improvements

Good understanding of industrial health & safety regulations

Excellent fault-finding, analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team

Flexibility to work shifts where required

What does the day-to-day look like?

Carrying out planned maintenance, inspections and calibration of instrumentation and control equipment

Diagnosing and repairing faults across process control systems and instrumentation

Maintaining accurate maintenance records and equipment documentation

Supporting preventative maintenance programmes to maximise plant reliability

Working alongside engineering teams to deliver control system upgrades and continuous improvement projects

Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and environmental standards

Contributing to the ongoing optimisation of manufacturing processes and plant performance
