Group SEN Tutor - Peterborough
Location: Peterborough
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:00pm
Contract: Term Time Only
Group Size: 4 students per session
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Group SEN Tutor to support students with complex additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and EBSA, who have EHCPs in place.
The successful tutor will deliver engaging and differentiated core subject tuition, including English and Maths, alongside personalised learning activities, interest-based projects and practical resources designed to meet the individual needs, abilities and interests of each student.
The tutor will work closely alongside a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant, providing a structured, supportive and inclusive learning environment. The role will involve supporting one group of four students during the morning session and a second group of four students during the afternoon session.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and differentiated English and Maths tuition.
Plan learning around students' individual EHCP outcomes and needs.
Use interest-based activities and creative resources to promote engagement.
Support students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and EBSA.
Build positive relationships and promote confidence, independence and emotional regulation.
Work collaboratively with the SEN TA and wider professional team.
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback and reporting.
Maintain a calm, structured and safe learning environment.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or relevant teaching experience.
Experience working with children or young people with complex SEN.
Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and/or EBSA.
Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and EHCP provision.
A patient, creative and nurturing approach to learning.
The ability to engage students through their interests and individual strengths.
