Commercial Operations & Logistics Coordinator
Location: Tamworth (office based)
Salary: Circa £35,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation seeking a highly organised Commercial Operations & Logistics Coordinator to support the smooth running of commercial, operational and financial processes.
This is a growth position that has been created as Darian moves in to a commercially focused role.
This is a varied and hands-on position that will suit an individual with strong international logistics/freight experience and someone who is strong on MS Excel.
The key is to free Darian up and be able to introduce efficiency in to this department.
The Role
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating commercial activity, managing operational administration, overseeing stock and invoicing processes, and ensuring international shipments are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating international ocean freight shipments and liaising with freight forwarders, shipping lines and logistics providers
Managing shipping documentation, delivery schedules and shipment tracking
Preparing and maintaining customer contracts and commercial records
Monitoring stock levels, maintaining accurate inventory data and producing stock reports
Raising and reconciling invoices, ensuring accuracy against contracts, orders and dispatch information
Supporting credit control activities, monitoring outstanding payments and producing debtor reports
Acting as a key point of contact for customers, providing updates on orders, shipments and account status
Producing reports and analysing operational data using Microsoft Excel
Supporting continuous improvement across commercial and logistics processes
Skills and experience we are looking for:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Must have previous international logistics knowledge/experience
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyse data, create reports and work confidently with formulas, lookups and pivot tables
Proven experience within a commercial operations, logistics, supply chain or administration environment
A solid understanding of international shipping documentation, freight processes and transport coordination
Stock control experience and ERP system knowledge is desirable
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
