About the Role
We are looking for passionate, energetic, and resilient Support Workers to join our team in Southampton. You will work directly with children and young people needing extra support due to learning disabilities, mental health challenges, or complex emotional needs. You will be the stable, encouraging presence these children need to thrive, build independence, and reach their potential.
Suitable for applicants with experience as a:
Youth Worker, Support Worker, Therapeutic Support Worker, Family Support Worker, Residential Childcare Worker, or Youth Mentor / Key Worker.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Living Support: Assisting with routines, meal preparation, personal care, and social activities.
Emotional & Behavioural Support: Using positive behaviour strategies to help children manage big emotions safely.
Creating Fun & Structure: Planning activities like trips to the park, crafts, or sports to promote happiness.
Progress Tracking: Writing clear daily logs to keep care and social work teams informed.
What You'll Bring
Experience: Minimum 6 months working as a children's support worker or in a similar professional childcare role.
Communication Skills: Good English reading and writing to read care plans and write clear reports.
Adaptability: Ability to think on your feet and make safe decisions in unpredictable moments.
Empathy & Resilience: A caring nature with the resilience to handle challenging behaviours calmly.
