The Opportunity
Working as part of a collaborative bid team, you will take ownership of tender submissions from pre-qualification through to final tender stage. You will work closely with operational teams, subject matter experts and external consultants to develop compelling, client-focused content that drives successful outcomes.
The role offers genuine variety, strategic involvement in bid planning, and the opportunity to contribute to bids for significant construction and civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate assigned PQQ, SQ and tender submissions from initiation to completion.
Review client requirements and develop tailored bid strategies and response plans.
Create clear, persuasive and high-quality written responses that demonstrate value and differentiate the business.
Facilitate bid kick-off meetings and coordinate input from key stakeholders.
Work with operational and technical teams to develop methodology, programme, quality, sustainability and social value responses.
Conduct research to support bid development and strengthen proposal content.
Prepare and support client presentations, interviews and clarification submissions.
Maintain bid content libraries and company bid management systems.
Utilise AI-driven bid software and management tools to improve efficiency and submission quality.
Monitor client feedback and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Visit project sites and engage with delivery teams to gather information for case studies and bid content.Candidate Requirements
Essential
Minimum 5 years' experience preparing successful PQQs, SQs and tender submissions within construction, civil engineering or related sectors.
Proven ability to develop high-quality written content for complex bids.
Strong understanding of public and private sector procurement processes.
Excellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Desirable
Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Engineering, Business, Marketing or a related discipline.
Experience using AI bid writing software, bid management platforms or proposal automation tools.
Experience supporting interviews, presentations and client engagement activities.
Knowledge of social value, sustainability and ESG requirements within construction bids.
