Job Purpose

To support the day-to-day operations of a poultry farm by carrying out general farm labour duties and ensuring the timely collection, handling, and storage of eggs while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Collect eggs from poultry houses regularly throughout the day.
Feed and water livestock as required.
Clean and maintain poultry houses, equipment, and work areas.
Remove waste and dispose of it in accordance with farm procedures.
Assist with farm maintenance tasks, including fencing repairs, bedding replacement, and general upkeep.
Comply with all health and safety regulations and farm policies.
Assist with other farm duties as required during busy periods.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

Good level of physical fitness and ability to undertake manual work.
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently.
Ability to follow instructions and health and safety procedures.
Flexible approach to work, including weekends and early mornings.

Working Conditions

Outdoor and indoor farm-based environment.
Early starts, weekends, and bank holiday working may be required.
Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, and livestock environments.
Regular manual handling and standing for extended periods.

Personal Attributes

Dependable and punctual.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Good team player.
Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and animal welfare.This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the farm and the efficient collection and handling of eggs while supporting overall farm productivity and animal welfare standards.
