Position: HGV Support Specialist
Location: Halifax
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm (38.75hrs)
Pay: up to £44,200
Benefits: Pension: 6% employer, 5% employee, 33 days holiday (including statutory), death in service 3x annual salary

Are you a technically skilled professional with a passion for diagnostics and customer service? We're hiring an HGV Support Specialist to provide expert assistance to mobile engineers and service teams, ensuring high-quality maintenance, repair, and customer satisfaction.
If you are an existing HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter looking to move off the tools into an office based role then this could be the opportunity for you.
The HGV Support Specialist will be responsible for
Deliver technical support to field engineers, troubleshoot issues, and guide diagnostics and repairs.
Provide training for internal technicians on electrical, engine, and diagnostic systems.
Conduct inspections, use technical manuals and diagnostic tools to identify and repair faults.
Ensure adherence to health & safety standards and quality assurance policies.
Maintain accurate documentation and parts inventory for repairs and support activity.
Collaborate across departments and contribute to ongoing technical improvement projects.
Support customer service teams in resolving technical issues with clients. Experience required for the HGV Support Specialist role
City and Guilds Level 3 – Vehicle Mechanical and Electronic Systems – Maintenance and Repair Qualification or equivalent qualification.
To demonstrate substantial experience in Auto Electrician fault diagnosis and resultant repairs, including the use of electronic diagnostic equipment. To include working experience of a range of heavy goods / specialist vehicle.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and deliver under pressure.
Previous hands on experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter
