Junior Welder

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Welder looking to develop their skills, receive hands-on training and build a long-term career within a supportive engineering environment.
As the Junior Welder you will provide daily support to the Lab, mainly focusing on all jobs on the work to list are performed, keeping welding operator approvals up to date, monitoring welder’s test pieces, reviewing and updating various documentation linked to operator approvals or welding.
The role will also support the Design Department for any other tasks that may be linked to lab work, i.e. sectioning of test pieces / failed components, etc.
Key Responsibilities for the Junior Welder
Maintenance of approvals of Welders and Brazing Operator approvals
The inspection of test pieces from production, ensuring compliance to specification
Providing support in qualification / substantiation of Weld test pieces
Providing support in welding and material investigations
Control and performing tests on Welding equipment (argon testing, etc) and Chemical analysis on cleaning tank solutions, etc.
Creation, review and approval of Welding and Brazing data cardsExperience required for the Junior Welder
Required:
Solid knowledge and experience reviewing specifications, drawings and routings
Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsDesirable:
Good understanding of specifications relating to Welding and Brazing (international and customer specifications)
Experience with welding ideal (seam, tig, etc.)
