We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEND school ages primary school in Bromley. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support emotional regulation
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Support pupils during transitions, break times, and throughout the school day Requirements
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Right to work in the UK
Availability for full-time work (Monday-Friday, term time)
Experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEND is highly desirable
Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach
Ability to work as part of a team and follow behaviour support plans
