The Role
As Buyer / Purchaser, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of materials and components required for production, while supporting production planning activities to maintain an efficient manufacturing process.
Working closely with production, suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure materials are available when needed, negotiate with suppliers, and contribute towards the smooth running of the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase materials, components and consumables required inclufing electro mechanical parts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to achieve the best possible pricing, quality and delivery performance.
Raise purchase orders and monitor supplier deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time.
Liaise with production and planning teams to maintain material availability and minimise production delays.
Assist with production planning and scheduling to support manufacturing requirements.
Monitor stock levels and identify opportunities to improve inventory management.
Resolve supplier queries and delivery issues in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and ERP system data.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across purchasing and supply chain operations.
Requirements
Previous experience within buying/purchasing and negotiating of prices
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
Good IT skills and experience using ERP/MRP systems would be advantageous.
A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
The ability to prioritise workload and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
