Operational Health & Safety Lead

Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys being out on site, influencing people and driving real cultural change rather than sitting behind a desk?

We're recruiting for an Operational Health & Safety Lead to join a well-established engineering organisation with projects across Scotland and the UK. This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work alongside operational teams to improve safety performance across workshops, manufacturing operations and customer sites.

You'll be responsible for embedding a positive safety culture, coaching managers and supervisors, improving behavioural safety and ensuring safe systems of work are implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety leadership across workshop and site operations
Promote behavioural safety and interaction
Support Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Carry out site inspections, audits and workplace safety reviews
Lead accident, incident and near miss investigations
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety training
Contractor management and permit to work activities
Build strong working relationships with operational teams and customers

We're looking for someone with:

Excellent communication and influencing skills
Previous experience in a senior operational Health & Safety role
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Experience within engineering, manufacturing, construction, industrial or heavy operational environments
Full UK Driving Licence
